In 1898 Congress approved a bill which stated all bullion bought under the Sherman Silver Purchase Act would become Silver Dollars. By 1904 all the reserves of silver were depleted and the mint stopped minting Morgan Dollars.
Yet we still will have one more year of Morgan Dollars! In 1918 the Pittman Act was passed authorizing the melting of millions of silver dollars. This act made the 1921 Morgan Silver and the 1921 Peace Dollar possible!
Next date 1921 Silver Dollar
